Spring Schedule

Academic Standing

  • A student who has attempted 12 or more units, maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, and has completed more than 50% of their attempted units.

  • A student who has attempted 12 or more units, maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above, and has completed more than 50% of their attempted units.

  • Academic Alert Level 1: A student who has not achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.

    Progress Alert Level 1: A student who has not completed more than 50% of their attempted units.

    Student on Alert Level 1 will:

    • Have a hold placed on their record.
    • Be required to complete the 4CD Student Success Workshop in Canvas to lift their hold.
    • Need to achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher and/or complete more than 50% of their attempted units or they may be placed on academic and/or progress alert level II.

  • Academic Alert Level 2: A student who has not achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above for two consecutive terms.

    Progress Alert Level 2: A student who has not completed more than 50% of their attempted units for two consecutive terms.

    Student on Alert Level 2 will: 

    • Have a hold placed on their record.
    • Be required to sign up for and attend an Alert 2 Workshop to lift their hold.
    • Need to achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher and/or complete more than 50% of their attempted units or they may be placed on academic and/or progress dismissal.

  • Academic Dismissal: A student who has not achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above for three consecutive terms.

    Progress Dismissal: A student who has not completed 50% or more of their attempted units for three consecutive terms.

    These students will:

    • Have a hold placed on their record. 
      Be required to attend a Reinstatement Workshop and complete a Reinstatement after Dismissal application. 
      Possibly have limitations on enrollment, if conditionally approved for reinstatement.
      Need to achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher and/or complete more than 50% of their attempted units or they may be placed on dismissal status again.

    To schedule a Reinstatement Workshop, contact 91°µÍø Retention Office by emailing your request and 91°µÍø student identification number to 91°µÍøStudentSuccess@dvc.edu or call 925-969-2526. Application for Reinstatement after Dismissal will be provided and completed during the workshop.
