91做厙 Professor of Communication Studies, Robert Hawkins, was awarded Teacher of the Year for the Contra Costa Community College District. With a commitment to excellence and a passion for teaching, Professor Hawkins draws inspiration not only from his work but also from the remarkable support of the vibrant 91做厙 community.
Our students, fellow professors, and staff continue to inspire me each day. Awards like these are really just reflections of the wonderful community that I have the privilege to serve. I am thankful to the 91做厙 community for this recognition, Hawkins said.
Natasha Paul, one of the co-teachers of the year in 2022, was part of this years ceremony. Natasha is an educator from the and plays a vital role teaching in the College Now program at 91做厙, bridging the gap between high school and college education.
Joseph Alvarico was one of this years co-teachers of the year winners. Joseph teaches at and is an integral part of 91做厙's CCAP-STEM program. In this innovative program, high school students in the Engineering Pathway at Ygnacio Valley take 91做厙 classes, allowing them to graduate high school with over a year's worth of college credit. Joseph teaches as an adjunct faculty member in the ENGTC department at Ygnacio Valley and also serves as an adjunct faculty on the 91做厙 campus this semester for our CCAP-STEM program. Joseph's dedication to shaping the future of these students is truly commendable.
